Holiday Shoes

With the holidays fast approaching tis' the season for our calendars to fill with events, parties and friendly get togethers.  I touched base with my fellow shoeaholics for their opinion of the most fab holiday footwear.  The result:  A collection of 4 holiday inspired heels that are sure to get you in the holiday spirit!!

Yes, yes -- with collaboration from Danielle, Sara, Sienna, and Izzy this is a Holiday Shoe Special you don't want to miss.  Here goes!

Reminiscent of those beautiful gold glass ornaments you see on the Christmas tree, Danielle trims her tree with these stunning Rose Gold Glitter Slingback Stilettos by Candies.  The simple silhouette of this classic pump accompanied by the soft gold tones make them a versatile holiday shoe from Christmas to New Years!
These shoes are incredible and Danielle takes them to new heights.  They accentuate her high arches and add the perfect touch of Holiday sparkle!  I'd like to see them under my tree!

In Sara's humble opinion, nothing says "Happy Holidays" like a little sparkle and shine!! And these multi-colored glitter platforms from Steve Madden are absolutely screaming from the rooftops!!  Slipping them on, she feels just like Dorothy when she first put the ruby red slippers on her feet - simply in awe of such beautiful, sparkly, magic shoes. (I know, I know, a little dramatic…) But hey, it is that magical time of year!
Danielle's Take:  These are the perfect New Year’s Eve shoe.  They give just the perfect amount of ball dropping glitter and glitz to be perfectly paired with a LBD and viola, you’re ready to rock in the New Year!!

Although Sienna doesn't actually own these beauties her pick for the perfect holiday shoe come from the shoe god himself, Christian Louboutin.  The lovely rich peacock color combined with the supple suede texture of this Aborina heel makes them the ideal holiday shoe.  Sienna suggests pairing them with black tights for a bold statement, making it all about the shoe!

Danielle Says: I love these shoes because they are not the typical "holiday" shoe, they are something different and unexpected.  Despite the $995 price tag they are definitely one for your Christmas list to Santa.  Sienna said it best' "A girl can dream right?" -- in this case, she may just find her prince! -- (hint:  it is @ShoesTweet)

Izzy's idea of holiday swag is with a preview into Mojo Moxy's Spring 2013 collection.  The Pandora, shown here in black, provides fun, mesh-covered cutouts in this gorgeous suede high heeled platform shoe.  This shoe is surety sass up your holiday outfit without leaving your feet exposed to the elements, while the matching laces will keep you steady on your feet, ready to celebrate! This is one PANDORA's Box you'll want to open ;) (ShoesTweet definitely agrees)

Danielle: this shoe screams trendy holiday fashion. The lacing in the front give them a Christmas Carolesque look while the classic style makes them a possible staple in any girls closet.

Aftershave Perfection

So, I found in my travel shave kit a sample of Edwin Jagger Aftershave lotion -- Sandalwood scent.

I had forgotten about it... and it migrated to the bottom.

But, as luck would have it, on Thanksgiving, I discovered it while rifling through the kit to prepare for the day.

This aftershave is marvelous. It is all natural (99.9%, anyway) and very soothing. It certainly takes away any lasting burn and leaves skin looking and feeling fresh and smooth.

More to my surprise, I actually found the scent intoxicating.
Not too strong, the way some aftershaves can be. A nice, masculine scent. Softly welcoming. Yet clearly all man.

Smooth, soft skin. A great scent. A wonderful product. I highly recommend it as a gift for the man in your life.

Sartorial: The Scent of Success

You know the man.

The one in the impeccable suit.  Perfectly tailored.

The one with the immaculately pressed shirt.  Cuff links.  Smart tie.

The one whose watch is of fine quality and accentuates his simple, classic style.

His shoes are black and shined and beautiful.

The man who gets things done.  Who makes things happen.

He's serious.  He's focused.  He's in control.

This man wears Sartorial from Penhaligon's.

He wears it at work ... and he's almost always working.

His suit and look are finished in the morning and remain finished by day's end ... which for him, could last well into the evening hours.

The scent is no-nonsense.  It is masculine and confident.  It is refreshing and refined.

This is not the scent of a man on the town or out and about on the prowl.  This is the man you truly want
because he's the one who makes things happen.

While it may not be a "date night" cologne, it's the scent a woman will unmistakably note as the scent of ambition fulfilled, goals accomplished, and a clear path forward.

While it may certainly be worn without a suit, it's not recommended.  For more on men's fragrance, go here.

Danielle and Mojo Moxy

Clearly, a winning combination.  Here, Danielle tells us more about her favorite shoes -- from Mojo Moxy.

Poppy - Yellow
The Stats - From the first and original Mojo Moxy Spring 2011 collection, the classic Poppy's retro style is modernized with bold colors completed with contrasting bands.  The shoe is given a feminine touch with a sheer flower detail on the front.  The platform allows for added comfort.
Danielle's Take:  The color combo cannot be beat, the yellow makes them neutral, while the pink adds a soft pop of color.  Although they come equipped with a 5 inch stiletto heel they are suprisingly comfortable, I can usually get 6 to 8 hours out of them.  The pure classic style of the shoe speaks for itself.  Loved it so much I bought it in Black & Tan as well.  Even though they are not as fun as the yellow they have become a staple in my wardrobe and move effortlessly season to season.

Lace Poppy - Purple
The Stats - The Lace Poppy brings its classic counterpart from day to evening.  All the qualities and style of the original Poppy in beautiful jewel tones (shown here in purple) overlaid with black lace.  Contrasting black satin band adds an elegant touch while the matching flower gives it a playful feel.
Danielle's Take:  This shoe screams evening wear.  It is classic and elegant but still has a sexy flirty vibe.  I first wore these to a wedding paired with a black satin mini dress, beautiful combination.  They gave the perfect pop of color.  Definitely un simplifies the little blah dress.

Magic - Black
The Stats - This beautiful suede platform pump offers a quilted texture with studded detail.  The magic debuted in the Fall 2011 collection and was available in 4 colors including fuchsia.  Perfect heel for day or night, it can easily be dressed up or dressed down.  5 inch heel with 1 1/2 inch platform.
Danielle's Take:  The plush texture of the suede is ideal for the cold seasons, making it my go to shoe for fall & winter.  Again a very comfortable shoe for a stiletto.  The classic pump style make them versatile but the studded embellishment gives them an edgy rocker feel.  I typically pair these with skirts and jeans.

OUR VIEW:  Mojo Moxy is a hot new designer and Danielle has what it takes to make these shoes move!

Barbie at the Office

So, when Krystyn goes for an interview, we know she'll be wearing these:

If you’ve ever wanted to feel like Barbie with a corner office, these shoes would be the perfect starting point! In a strikingly bright neon pink patent leather, accented with a tiny gold bow on the vamp, they are simple enough to talk business but bright enough to still let you shine. Time to electrify the workplace?

Apparently, Barbie shops here.

Sunglasses via Warby Parker

So, Mollie in Seattle turned me on to Warby Parker glasses.  While I already have a pair of everyday specs, I also need some prescription sunglasses.  WP offers affordable, very stylish options AND a home try-on program.  So, I've got the following 5 pairs of glasses headed my way as I type:

First, Felton.

Then, Aldous.

and Larkin

and Miles

Finally, Roosevelt...

Your thoughts are welcome, of course.  But, I'll be seeing them on ME in just a couple days!
